Inspiration & Gratitude

Many helping hands....

It is beauty that inspires designer Marilyn Enos to create Rhythm & Myrrh. “I love being surrounded by beautiful things and feel like beauty has the inherent capacity to elevate the soul”, muses Marilyn, who learned to sew when she was nine years old. One lazy summer her mother sent her, along with her older sister to sewing school where she discovered her affinity for the craft. She received her degree in Design from UC Davis and worked as a graphic designer for many years before turning her attention to clothing design.  "I am always inspired by the fabrics and it is the starting point for every collection", she explains.  Today, her Mill Valley studio is where she continues to realize her dream of designing garments that are at once accessible and unique, yet offer a simple, timeless sophistication.

But she doesn’t do it alone.

Marilyn is quick to express her deep gratitude and acknowledges that without the committed community of skilled craftspeople who work collaboratively with her to create her exquisitely made garments, Rhythm & Myrrh would not exist. As one of the oldest of the textile arts, sewing requires a unique combination of patience, skill and creativity, and she feels fortunate to work with some of the most accomplished in the industry. Not only is Marilyn committed to working with local craftspeople, she also insists that Rhythm & Myrrh produce every garment here in the USA.
